Thierry Janots and Richard Bos

We are Thierry Janots (1961), French, and Richard Bos (1967), Dutch, two excellent winemakers with a passion for the famous Burgundy wines from the Côte d'Or. We strive for natural wines, "vin de nature" of the highest quality, brilliantly expressing the terroir. We avoid additives and superfluous manipulations.

History

In 2005 we founded our own winery. We've known each other since we met in 1996 at the wine school, the Lyceé Viticole, in Beaune. Thierry has worked for numerous famous wineries, like Joseph Drouhin, Louis Latour and Domaine des Comtes Lafon. Richard worked in the Netherlands in gastronomy. Almost ten years after his education in Beaune, he followed his heart and went back to Burgundy. In 2005 we've decided to join forces and founded JanotsBos. We make our own wines, because that's the only way we can guarantee the quality our customers are demanding. Although we are both skilled winemakers, Thierry is focussing on the technical aspects, the wine making, whereas Richard is focussing on the marketing and commercial activities.

With our two Dutch partners Phillis and Paul Berens, we are further developing our winery.At the moment, our sixth vintage, 2010, is in our cellar. We will bring no less than eleven appellations 2009 on the market. Now available is our vintage 2008 with ten different appellations! All of them made by us with great care into excellent Burgundy wines. Time flies when you're having fun.
