JanotsBos:

We hadden een succesvolle presentatie van onze wijnen tijdens les Grands Jours gisteren in Chassagne. Veel serieuze belangstelling!

JanotsBos:

Yesterday at les Grands Jours our wines were very well received. We got much attention from importers from all around the world.

JanotsBos:

Morgen, 23 maart, presenteren we onze wijnen in Chateau Chassagen, tijdens de Grands Jours de Bourgogne. Stand nr 54.

Chassagne-Montrachet (2006)

Our Chassagne-Montrachet is rich in extract. It has a nice freshness with a bouquet of ripe (tropical) fruit, may blossom and fine acidity. On the palate is shows a soft body and gives lots of fruit. Of course the wine is still very young and needs time to develop, but the potential cannot be overlooked. In the bouquet fennel and the typical Montrachet tone of the lee (“lie”) are present. The wine is very complex and extremely well balanced. Definitely first class! Its evolution is something every wine lover will be looking forward to. We are certain the tropical fruit will become more apparent, but the wine will keep its character of complexity without any specific element overwhelming the others. It will stay balanced and will express its characteristics more and more. Keep it for another five to ten years. It’s Burgundy at its best.

The Chassagne-Montrachet is from the vineyards “La Bergerie” and “Plante du Gaie”, both at a somewhat lower altitude, compared to our Saint Aubin and Puligny-Montrachet. The soil is richer, which is reflected in the wine. This wine can of course be enjoyed without any food. However some wine and food combination are staggering: prawns and other delicate sea fruit (fruits de mer), black and white truffles, dishes with white sauces and dishes with tarragon or mushrooms.
