Puligny-Montrachet (2006)
This is a Puligny-Montrachet like it should be. It has body, an intense bouquet of fruit (e.g. apple and peach). It’s complex, refined, with nice acidity on the palate. The aftertaste is very long and stays pleasant. It combines the full-bodiedness of the Meursault with the minerality of the Saint Aubin and the fruitiness of the Chassagne-Montrachet. It’s simply great. The wine can be kept for several years without losing any of its fruity and lively character. Richard Bos is swept of his feet every time he tastes this outstanding wine.
Our Puligny-Montrachet is from the vineyard “Le Trezin”, with a rocky soil, just a little above the premier cru “La Garenne”. The higher altitude and the resulting cooler micro climate result in a slow ripening process, adding to the character of the wine. We suggest the wine with veal, lobster or lobster sauce, sauces with cream or butter, white fish or caviar.
